The Story So Far…

In the mystical realm of Barcadia, where magic and competition intermingle, Heroes from all corners of the land gather for the realm’s most prestigious drinking competition. What begins as a joyous celebration turns dark when the Grand Drink Guardian unleashes his monstrous minions to abscond with the grand prize.

Eight brave souls, our stalwart Heroes of Barcadia, rise to the challenge. But their valor meets an unexpected twist—the Grand Drink Guardian reveals his ultimate weapon: the Die of Barcane Chaos. This relic, crafted by the Chaoschasers (Alechemist Wizards who reveled in the unpredictable nature of magic), is the embodiment of Chaos Magic itself. With the power to alter reality and make things really complicated, the Die turns Loot, one of the Heroes’ most powerful tools, into a potential liability.

Overwhelmed by the chaotic power of the Die, our Heroes are forced into a hasty retreat. They manage to escape the dungeon, but they’re in rough shape and their loot is gone. They return to the Plastered Pony Tavern, where they talk with Brewtus Pintsmasher about calling additional heroes to help win back the precious Drink Hoard.

From distant lands, new champions emerge—the Heroes for Hire. These intrepid adventurers take up the mantle, venturing into the perilous dungeon to confront the chaotic magic of the Die of Barcane Chaos. Their journey is fraught with even greater challenges than those faced by the original Heroes. Yet, with courage and determination, they push forward, aiming to restore balance and reclaim the stolen treasures.

The Heroes for Hire bring unique skills and fresh strategies to the battlefield. Let’s meet these brave new adventurers:

• Sip-Jin the Drunken Fist: Master of balance and fluidity from the Brew Shang-La Monastery.
• Biggswigg the Buzzkiller & Chaser the Rat Queen: Goblin tinkerer and his regal rodent partner.
• Ontaprielle, the Alechemist: Centaur wizard with potions to heal, harm, or bewilder.
• Dram the Aged & Oaken & Gulp the Frog: Druidic construct with a unique bond to nature.

As they delve deeper into the dungeon’s treacherous corridors, these Heroes must outwit formidable foes and navigate the unpredictable effects of the Die. Their trials are grueling, their adversaries relentless, but the spirit of Barcadia thrives on such bold undertakings.

Will these new Heroes succeed? It's up to you! Take on the mantle of these new champions, master their abilities, and outmaneuver your opponents to become the ultimate Hero of Barcadia. How Does Heroes for Hire Work?

The Heroes for Hire cups are designed to replace a character from the base game and/or party pack. This means you can seamlessly integrate these new heroes into your existing game setup, keeping the maximum number of players at 8 for optimized playthroughs. More characters means more ability cards! Try them all out until you find the best approach that matches your playstyle.

How Does the Die of Barcane Chaos Work?

Not only do you get new characters, but you also get to play with a new mechanic — the Die of Barcane Chaos.

Crafted by the Chaoschasers (Alechemist Wizards who reveled in the unpredictable nature of magic), the Die of Barcane Chaos has the power to alter reality and make things REALLY complicated. Every Loot Card that's played moves the die closer to activating, and the player who triggers it must roll to determine their fate! It's a brand new mechanic to an already fun game.
